Important

Golfkicks are a DIY product designed to work for many install skill levels and WORK AS WELL AS YOUR MOUNTING JOB so take your time and understand the instructions - use your skills and your shoe goo.

Take your time, use 8 per shoe max, you have extras in the box.

Jordan 11's/Foamposites/shoes with CARBON FIBER or PLASTIC under rubber you'll need to drill a pilot hole (5/32 bit 6mm deep) before mounting. This is an ADVANCED install only recommended if you know what you're doing.

ANY AIR or gel bladders have the potential of puncturing but we have found this doesn't matter on the golf course.

Know what you're screwing into. You are in charge of the shoes you select and some work much better than others. If in doubt look up your shoe model/deconstruct on google and you can usually find what the guts of the shoe look like or ask us for help - info@golfkicks.com

Sole rot warning - we love seeing older shoes get a new life on the golf course but if midsole is crusty/rotted Golfkicks spikes can accelerate sole delamination.

PRO TIP: If you have access to a drill this makes it very easy, your Kit includes a 5mm hex insert drill bit.

Shoe guidance

FLAT RUBBER (NOT FOAM)

Soles need to be 1/3 inch thick and have FLAT RUBBER (NOT FOAM) on the bottom. If you have a lot of traction on the sole you don't need Golfkicks.

Mount Golfkicks on a FLAT area of your shoe so that the disc part of the cleat has FULL CONTACT with your sole for support. Do not hang off raised traction. Do not install a cleat way up on your toe this is not necessary.

ALL SHOES ARE DIFFERENT, the thinner the sole the more you will feel traction underfoot.

Golfkicks are designed to be permanent

Avoid repeatedly removing and installing your Golfkicks - this causes sole material to weaken and be less supportive. Softer, spongier sole materials will not hold Golfkicks.

FAQ

What are Golfkicks made of?
Metal and rubber/TPE they flex like soft spikes
Why get a Traction Kit when I can buy golf shoes?
KICKS' customers own plenty of golf shoes but love the limitless options Golfkicks provide for style, comfort, kids, orthopedic needs, upcycling classics from the closet...
Will they ruin my shoes or make them leak?
NO -Golfkicks are designed to be permanent but if removed typically leave a tiny incision in the rubber and the 7mm screw does not go all the way through sole of recommended shoes. Different soles heal in different ways, some barely visible.
Do I need to drill pilot holes?
NO - UNLESS you are doing Jordan 11s, Foamposites or other models that have carbon fiber or hard plastic under the rubber.
Does glue help?
Yes, use a dab of Shoe Goo on threads for all installs. Shoe goo has flex and works better than super glue.
I'm a lefty or righty does this matter?
No- The screws lock in place and won't "unscrew", if mounted poorly they can pull out but unscrewing is not an issue. Use Shoe Goo, we do.
Will they fall out?
Fall-out is RARE if installed properly which is up to you. It is possible for any type of screw-in cleats to fall out and the best soles are FLAT rubber soles. Softer foam soles don't hold screws well.
Can I use a drill?
Yes, just make sure you don't overspin the threads in your sole or they won't hold as well. Your Kit includes a 5mm hex bit for drill installs.
Is there a recommended cleat pattern?
We like 8 cleats as pictured but It depends on the shoe and existing tread, find flat spots on the sole and distribute 8 cleats per single adult shoe.
Will Golfkicks push through to my feet?
We have not had a reported case of push through and encourage you to only use Golfkicks on shoes with minimum sole thickness of 1/3 inch. If you choose thin soft soles like Vans, Chucks, Dunks or skate shoes you will feel the cleats underfoot much more than with thicker soles.
Can I take them out?
Golfkicks are designed to be permanent but if they wear down or you want to transfer to another shoe you can do this once. Installing/taking out every time you play golf is not recommended.
